Lab Machine Type

LAB MACHINE TYPE
Mechanical Machines at the start of the Industrial revolution were made from iron cast and consisted of mechanical components, often driven by hydro power, water falls, or a steam engine. Parts included rollers, wheels, cogs, gears, plates, levers, screws, presses, cams and other various mechanical components. In the Lab, the telescope equatorial and alt-az mounts are example.

Electromechanical Machines took form to replace many purely mechanical machines. For example, the Olivetti A4 and A4 accounting machines began to incorporate solenoids and electrical parts.

Electronic Machines replaced both mechanical and electromechanical parts, and used electronic boards, typically with microprocessors. One example is the modern day computer.

Optoelectronic Machines One example is the Optoelectronic Interface that communicates with light waves.

Thermodynamic Machines use temperature. One example is a Thermodynamic Equalizer used to maintain temperatures in the observatory.

Virtual Machines use resources inside a computer or the resources of images taking the shape of hardware devices like a keyboard, though they are not hardware by nature.

Software Machines can exist inside the operations of a computing machine and are created with programming.

Object Printing Machines

Procedural Machines have a series of steps to follow that comprise a procedure to make specific accomplishments.

Hardware Machines use physical components to function, such as cogs and gears, mechanics, solenoids, .

Remote Machines can exist far away at another location and are operated by electronic means.

Augmented Machines can mix and overlay computer generated devices with real world reality

Thermal Machines are able to use heat to transfer dot images to special paper and print characters.

Light Machines and those of the electromagnetic spectrum include optoelectronic devices, telescopes, cameras and special imaging equipment.

Idea Machines function with a series of ideas are formulated and then the functioning is worked out on paper or in the mind.

Mind Machines use resources found within one’s mind. This can include devices used to enhance memory and recall, perform mathematical functions using algorithms, and to self program to make specific accomplishments like weight loss, etc.
