This surgery installed the next three mechanical parts into the heart system to increase function and longevity. The heart now has a total of six machine parts installed.
Humanoido refused all pain killers, relaxants, and underwent the surgery completely raw. To stay calm during periods of intense pain, techniques of mental Tai Chi, breathing techniques, and Vulcan Mind meditation were used. Forgoing the pain medications increases the rate of recovery and the patient gets to go home the next day.
Foregoing medications also gives one the opportunity to see if they are made of the right stuff, able to take the rigors of the intense procedure, and remain calm and composed under such stress of being so called "sliced and diced."
