Venus Jupiter Conjunction Ends

VENUS JUPITER CONJUNCTION COMES TO A CLOSE

The Jupiter Venus Aldebaran conjunction comes to a close because its southern path puts it behind the skyscraper's south wall at Observatory Lab 50 and the project must be concluded. Lab 50 is used for celestial events rising in the East, northerly objects and star fields, and testing various Big Brain eyes.

In the small photo, at top is Jupiter, to the right of Jupiter is Aldebaran in Taurus, with Jupiter below.

At least three other stars are visible, some of which can be corroborated with the black and white photo.

The color photo was taken July 29th, 2012 at 04:01:46 am at f/2 with a CCD imager and a one second exposure (IE at 1.7). The ISO was pushed to 1,600.

The photo converted to black and white was taken at 04:04:31 am with the same imaging settings. The image is processed to see more stars through the heavy light pollution of downtown Taipei. Shown to the left of 101 is Auriga and Capella with the Pleiades at top right.

One might wonder why not continue to take shots like the small color photo...this was dangerously obtained by hanging out over the safety guard railing at a height of hundreds of feet in the air. Another reason the photo is small is because the CCD is hand held for this view and motion occurred during the exposure. To minimize the appearance of trailing, the image was reduced.

July 2012 Update

Current Big Brain Supercomputer Propeller Side
JULY 2012 BIG BRAIN UPDATE!
It's a busy rock'in and roll'in time at the Big Brain Labs and time to offer the update so our followers know what's new.
Monthly Updates
We've fallen behind in the month by month updates cache so it's time to offer a July compendium. There are many projects being worked on and all come under the classification of the Big Brain.

The Big Eye
Currently the Big Brain project is the Big Eye. This is a new Canon S95 PowerShot CCD imager being tested on the near nightly imaging of the current Venus Jupiter Aldebaran Conjunction.

The New Big Brain
The Big Brain was upgraded and is now a supercomputer. Here's the description posted at the Parallax site found here,
100+ Hybrid Parallax Propeller Supercomputer
Humanoido Labs
Upgrade to the Big Brain. The most powerful TeraFLOPS machine made by Humanoido Labs. Reached equivalent supercomputing speed in 2012 comparable to the Top 500 List. A massive design with all available props exceeding 800 Propeller RISC processors and 729 Intel and AMD processors and 100,000 VIP Processors. Currently reached the 12th level. Utilized for the Ultra Space Program, Brain Enhancement and Projects. More Specs and Information at:

The GT Telescope
A very active project is imaging with the newly invented GT Genius Telescope. This monster telescope has a tri aperture mode for 1.5, 15 and 150 mile apertures, and resides part in space and part on the Earth, operated by the Big Brain supercomputer. The GT Telescope is the latest in a series of telescopes by the Big Brain's Ultra Space Program and Ultra Space Administration. The most recent image, the edge of the sun, is found here.

Humanoido Labs
One of the most important aspects of the Big Brain project is the Lab. The Lab is the development center and fronts up the operations of the supercomputer and all the projects and inventions. Recently several new Labs were introduced.

Labs List
The Labs List and information repository is one of the largest ever created.

Language List
Constantly updated is the new Mega List of Propeller chip languages. Now with over 220 Propeller computer programming languages, the chip has become the leader in holding the record for the most number of available programming languages.

Consolidation
We've consolidated the Big Brain and moved it to one primary location for more powerful processing and more function. For example, the supercomputing Big Brain now heads up the Ultra Space Administration and powers the GT Genius Telescope.

Moving
We've moved again and this has postponed and disrupted operations until everything is back to full time operating condition.

The Propeller ELF
This project is going well, and ongoing, to create a replicate clone of the retro computer of the 1970s that was named the COSMAC ELF which was based on the 1802 chip. This project creates an expanded version with the ability to run an emulation of Tom Pittman's Tiny BASIC. The Prop ELF adds some functioning and for example, a Flash Memory card replaces the Kansas City Tape Standard for storage and retrieval of files and/or the access to large EEPROM. http://humanoidolabs.blogspot.tw/2012/03/propeller-elf-ii.html

Inventions
Several new inventions are on the design table that use the Parallax Propeller chip. We'll blog more when we have some working models

All New Index

Venus Meets 101

SPECTACULAR VIEWS OF VENUS AT TAIPEI 101
THE CONTINUING  SAGA OF THE VENUS JUPITER ALDEBARAN CONJUNCTION AT 101

Photo 1 - Panorama

Photo 2 - Wide View

Friday July 27th 2012

Photo 3 - Zoom
Photo 1 The panoramic view in photo 1 was shot in the early morning of July 27th, 2012 at 3:22:06 am, with a Canon Powershot S95 at 1 second exposure (2 EV) with a 28mm f/2 lens and ISO 1,600 shows a rich field of celestial sky objects - from top: the Pleiades star cluster, the planet Jupiter, the Hyades star cluster, Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus the Bull, Capella in the constellation Auriga. Note the position of very bright Venus to the immediate right of Taipei 101. Click on the photo to see the full panorama.

Photo 2 The next photo shows a wide view shot in portrait format obtained earlier at 3:20:12 am. These first two images were at 1080 x 1920 1.2MB and screen shot for reduction.

Photo 3 The zoom is highly detailed at f/4... and perhaps the most dramatic with Jupiter, Aldebaran, and Venus poised immediately next to Taipei 101 (at the right side aboub 3/4th of the way towards the top).

Jupiter Venus Conjunction Widens

JUPITER VENUS CONJUNCTION WIDENS

Along with more stars and the return of another UFO!

All observations made at Humanoido Lab Number 50.

Wednesday July 25th 2012 3:53:18 am

Clear skies returned this morning to reveal the stunning Jupiter Venus Aldebaran conjunction above the Taipei 101 skyscraper.

The event was double spectacular as another UFO buzzed the surrounding sky for a short time. This time, the UFO made a wide sweeping pass and did not appear to land behind the Skyscraper 101 as some UFOs did in the past. It's believed some type of landing strip is located there, although it was confirmed that the conventional airport is located in another direction.

The earlier time at 3:53:18 revealed a darker sky and more stars, thus showing constellations Taurus the Bull and Auriga with the bright star Capella (to the left) more clearly. The small cluster of stars located about three fourths of the way toward the top is the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters. In the photo with trailed star images, clearly the elongation of the UFO follows the path of a different angle.

The favorite imaging settings for this type of view are Program, ISO 1,600, 2 EV, f/2, no zoom, 1-second exposure, 1064 x 1600 727K image format with AWB in JPEG setting. A 28mm lens was used for this hand held shot. The first photo does not show the UFO.

The second image shows the UFO located directly above the 101 Tower. It appears elongated or saucer shaped on its North-bound trek. Numerous images were obtained showing the object moving across the sky.

Photos have no guiding from the hand-held camera. To capture these images, the author must hang out of the skyscraper several hundred feet above the open ground to avoid the building obstruction to the south. The entire process is a bit risky but result in very good images. Pieces of the this obstruction are visible in some photos at the right side.

The third photograph shows the unidentified object changing position again, moving from right to left. This shows the elongation of the object most clearly as the stars are not trailed. Photos were pre-processed with Apple iPhoto using enhancements: Exposure, Definition, Sharpness, and De-noise. The fourth photo shows another UFO change in position towards the North.

The final photo shows an enlargement of the UFO with saucer shape and a plume appearance directly to the top. The visual view of the craft exhibited some noted red color lights at times, not seen here in this photo.

Sky Haze Experiment with Venus Jupiter Conjunction

SKY HAZE EXPERIMENT WITH VENUS JUPITER CONJUNCTION

SATURDAY JULY 21ST 2012
4:39:40 am

This test exposure is maximum processed to show clouds and haze (at top of photo) that was not visible to the naked eye. It's obvious that on nights of this typical haze, which apparently is often, the limiting magnitude takes a reduction hit. Planets shown are Jupiter and Venus next to Aldebaran in the Hyades star cluster in the constellation Taurus the Bull. This is a screen capture from the original 1016 x 1529 (752K) image. Exposed at 1/10th second, the ISO 1,600 image was at f/2 with a 28mm lens without zoom, using a Canon PowerShot S95.

The next color photo shows a normalized enhanced conjunction view with two planets and three brighter stars including Aldebaran in Taurus (at right of Jupiter and Venus) and Capella (far left) in the constellation Auriga, visible in this early morning dawn view. The conjunction view shows less stars around 4:30 am due to the encroaching sky glow. However, earlier clouds prevented completely clear sky imaging. Refer to the previous conjunction images for the identification of stars.

In the next view, a kind of "Where's Waldo" of stars, shown at larger image scale, a maximum number of eight stars are visible. Two above 101, four at left, and three at top.

07.20.2012 Venus Conjunction Sky Map Experiment

Above right: Taipei 101, Jupiter, Venus, Capella in Taurus
July 20, 2012 Venus Jupiter Conjunction Sky Map Experiment

Constellation Auriga with bright star Capella
Friday morning was clear enough to capture Venus Jupiter conjunction and the most stars ever photographed in the early morning dawn sky. This experiment shows that a simple hand held camera shooting a very clear sky at high ISO ratings can create a "downtown" star map from a heavily light polluted high density populated city. This 1 second exposed (2 EV) image was taken at 4:20:06 am with settings of f/2, a 28mm lens, and ISO 1,600. No UFOs were seen during the sequence of observations. Enough stars are seen to clearly define the constellations. This view is screen captured from the original 1064 x 1600 pixel image. The star map is rotated to match the actual view of the constellation Auriga and the brightest star Capella, in the photo to the left of the Taipei 101 skyscraper. The photo shows the Pleiades star cluster, Venus, Jupiter, Aldebaran in the Hyades star cluster, and the constellation Auriga with the bright star Capella. A PowerShot Canon S95 CCD camera was used to obtain the sequential images in this study. The camera eye is recording numerous stars not seen to the naked eye view. To conduct a program of creating the aforementioned sky maps, a simple tripod is recommended. It may also be possible to go deeper on the exposure and this deserves continued experimentation. The Lab 50 is obstructed by a brick structure on the South, so for an all sky mapping project another lab is recommended, like Area 51 atop the skyscraper.

Big Brain Heli Flight

Waiting for commands to take off & land
BIG BRAIN CAN REMOTELY FLY THIS HELICOPTER
Simple controls establish vertical take off and landing by interfacing into the stock wireless controller. The airport sets atop the Big Brain (Left Brain) on the EXO. Simple servos offer control in four joystick directions. It is recommended to calibrate Trim before flying by remote to reduce or eliminate any spin rotation. In the video, the yellow helicopter revs up and lifts off, reaches its vertical height, and receives the command to lower back down to the Heli-Pad for a safe landing. This experiment proves that simple control of flying a helicopter is possible using a budget under US$30.

Big Brain 1 Year Anniversary

BIG BRAIN ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Buildup of the Big Brain machine continued in the year 2011. Big Brain EXO plus super breadboards received a complete upgrade using wire bundles and thousands of decoupling capacitors (see lower photo) and interfacing precision resistors.

The EXO or Exoskeleton was joined to a series of super breadboards exceeding a total of 100 Parallax Propeller chips. The Big Brain was elevated to supercomputing status in the TeraFLOPS speed range in the subsequent year.

6 Objects Conjunction

Rare 6 Celestial Conjunction
SPECTACULAR 6 OBJECTS CELESTIAL CONJUNCTION
Sunday July 15th 2012 4:19:53 local Taipei time

This is a rare recorded image of the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Aldebaran, Hyades, and Pleiades Cluster, Conjunction as seen next to the second tallest skyscraper in the world - Taipei 101.

All six celestial objects moved together on the morning of July 15th 2012. Seen on the original to the right is the Hyades Star Cluster (see map for Aldebaran and positioning).

Imaged at 4:19:53 am and shot with ISO 1,600 at f/2 with a one second exposure. The Canon PowerShot S95 has a CCD element and a 28mm lens. Although imaged before sunrise in darker skies, the great sensitivity of the CCD element collects sky glow, pre dawn light, and light pollution, creating a spectacular view including full visible clouds and a bright blue sky looking like daytime with a city skyline! This image was taken at the right moment, just when the clouds cooperated by making a clearing for the mentioned celestial objects. This event marks the first conjunction viewed with a combined set of 2 planets (Jupiter and Venus), 2 star clusters (the Pleiades and the Hyades), the Moon and a bright star (Aldebaran) in the Hyades Star Cluster in the constellation Taurus the Bull. Also visible but farther away is a bright star near the zenith.

Star map from John Walker's "Your Sky"
Star Map prior to the actual event shows the Moon in a slightly higher position. From top to bottom, the Pleiades, Moon, Jupiter, Hyades, Aldebaran, and Venus. Adapted from Your Sky by John Walker.

Sun Edge Reveal

JOURNEY TO THE EDGE OF THE SUN!
GT TELESCOPE REVEAL

THE MASSIVE GT TELESCOPE is known for new science of discovery in the Universe. Pointing the telescope at a solar system object is always exciting because the reveal leads to greater understanding.

In this spectacular discovery image reveal obtained with the GT Genius Telescope in stopped down 1.5-mile Level I Aperture Mode, the Sun's Edge is shown to contain thousands of sub flares erupting from the molten magma. The sun constantly contains and creates, at any one time, trillions of these bubbling changing eruptions. Hydrogen Alpha character selection filter wavelength band-pass selection employed with a singular Adjunctive and the Advanced Universe Penetrator AUP set to the first aperture level at 1.5-miles. The MMS Multi Mag Slider was 60 to 70% engaged and processing took place with the Big Brain Supercomputer at the Center for the GT Space Administration. In cooperation with the GT Space Administration, NASA, DSC Deep Space Center, Big Brain Supercomputer Project, and Humanoido.

Note: this is only the second publicly known published image taken by the GT Genius Telescope. The first image obtained by this mammoth telescope (Transit of Venus) is found here:

UFOs Return on Astro Night

BIG BRAIN SPOTS RETURN OF FLYING SAUCERS
ON ASTRO NIGHT
Friday July 13th 2012

A SPECTACULAR ASTRO NIGHT & VERY BUSY MORNING!
The skies of Taiwan always have something fantastic to offer! Early this morning before the sun rose, the Big Brain was observing numerous celestial events and suddenly the UFO "Flying Saucers" began to return in force. Essentially, one after another traversed the night sky in various flight patterns near Taipei 101. Also in the news, China said they saw UFOs too! Is this some global event? But first, let's look at a flying craft closeup preview, then move on to some of the astronomical studies going on.

LEFT: Friday July 13th, 2012
UFOs of varying size, and at least one craft with lights, dot the sky on the night of July 13th 2012. These images were taken of moving aerial craft with swift velocity rates that can be determined from the available sequential image array. The four prints are enlargements of the originals.

Most of these views exhibit lenticular proportions. View one has shape detail and color and appears to have some craft lights. View two has the familiar saucer shape with a possible array of lower lights encircling the craft. View three has a more edge on appearance and view four appears as a top down photo indicating angular tilting towards the camera.

Lunar Phase Program
Friday July 13th, 2012
This event marks another addition to the Lunar Phase Program, conducted by the Big Brain. The inclusion is a series of astro images of the crescent Moon beginning at 2:19 am local Taipei time on Friday July 13th, 2012, with the photo shown taken at 2:23:32 am. This is a 15X combined optical and digital zoom image corrected for exposure. This helps complete the crescent lunar phases around the time of Last Quarter. Imaged with the Big Brain CCD Eye, a Canon S95 CCD imager

Refractive Moon-Light in Atmospheric Water Vapor
Experiment
Friday July 13th, 2012
The color effects of light reflected from the Moon by the Sun and being refracted into the atmosphere's high concentration of water vapor was captured at 2:21:16 am. This study's objective is to quantify the level of water vapor in the lower atmosphere and relate it to astronomical viewing. The humidity level follows a type of gradient and varies from night to night, thus effecting astronomical imaging of selected objects and other sky factors such as seeing and transparency, horizon extinction gradient, and zenith predictors. The purpose of the study is to secure an astro image for analysis and both qualitative and quantitative analysis that can lead to better and greater prediction of sky conditions.

Venus 101 Emergence Experiment
Sequential Venus 101 Emergence
3:20:01 am July 15th 2012
Friday July 13th, 2012
At 3:13:18 am local Taipei time, the event had not begun. This interesting celestial event was clearly visible at 3:17:01 am when Venus made an appearance, emerging from the right South East directional side of 101. In the photo, Venus is the big white dot at the right side of Taipei 101 skyscraper. The event began with the most subtle hint of brightness to the side of 101 as early as 3:13:47 am, 3:14:03 am, 3:14:14 am, 3:14:29 am,  3:14:45 am, and 3:15:04 am on Friday July 13th 2012. The captured astro image image sequence continued at 3:17:01, 3:17:14, 3:17:39, 3:17:54, 3:18:13, 3:18:47, 3:19:25, 3:19:35, and 3:19:52. At 3:20:01 am (see photo) Venus was fully emerged from 101 and the sequence was terminated. The event spanned a little over 6 minutes. This experiment confirms the heavy water humidity content in the air creating a bending light refracting lens effect as Venus emerged slowly over a period of minutes and did not suddenly appear. Sixteen images were acquired after the pre-event image as Venus slowly emerged from the side of Taipei 101, from 3:13:47 to 3:20:01 lasting 6 minutes 14 seconds.

Venus-Jupiter-Aldebaran Conjunction
Friday July 13th, 2012
The first conjunction photo of Venus-Jupiter-Aldebaran was taken at 4:03:43 am. The bright object at the top is Jupiter. Below, the brightest object is Venus. To the upper right of Venus is the star Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus the Bull and part of the Hyades star cluster. Refer to previous blogs that follow this conjunction during every clear available night.

The First Flying Saucer
Friday July 13th, 2012
At 3:13:18 am on Friday the 13th of 2012, the first saucer appeared very close to the right side of 101 at the South East side and was captured in a single photo. The wide field image shows the UFO as a single dot. By the time the next image was taken at 3:13:47 am, the unidentified flying object had completely vanished.

The Second Flying Saucer
Friday July 13th, 2012
Things remained calm until suddenly at 4:04:07 am a Flying Saucer appeared from the South Eastern direction moving towards 101.

This is the most comprehensively photographed UFO of the night, including other series on the previous night of activity.

Additional images were taken of the craft at 4:04:14, 4:04:27, 4:04:49, 4:05:01, 4:05:13, and by 4:05:31 it had vanished behind 101 never to reappear. Refer to the sequence of small images to determine the rate of descent and landing based on relative positioning.

These aerial events don't last long. From the time the UFO appeared (4:04:17 am) to the time it disappeared (4:05:31 am) only 1 minute and 14 seconds elapsed.

All images were seen with the Big Brain's new digital CCD eye, a Canon S95 with its f/2 lens and processed with the right side of the Big Brain using 724 processors.

The Third Flying Saucer
Friday July 13th, 2012
Things went back to calm until 4:12:24 am another craft appeared from the South East direction moving again towards 101. At 4:13:08 it was approaching 101. At 4:13:19 it was very near 101, almost occultated, and this was the final photo in the sequence. This craft had a very steep measurable rate of decent. Note that each craft is flagged as a number episode to track the fleet. Numerous sitings are tagged by event time in a sequence.

Search for UFO Origins

Airbus a380 and a Boeing 747
BIG BRAIN SEARCHES FOR THE UFO ORIGIN

REASEARCH conducted in the Big Brain UFO Project to identify Wednesday's UFO Flying Saucer sighting and imagery has yielded surprising results! What is the plausible reason for such anomalies surrounding one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world? What is the magnetic appearing attraction to this object structure that often rises into the clouds?

The stock photo comparison shown here identifies the Airbus a380 with a Boeing 747 jet airliner. At just the right angle of either front-on or rear view, the shape concurs with that of yesterday's UFO sighting.

UFO sighting
Due to the proximity of the Taipei International Airport, being located to the East, in a direction behind Taipei 101, it's very likely the object seen moving across the field of view is a landing "human" aircraft, although we cannot be 100% certain.

Don't be too disappointed - reports of surmised Alien food requirements involving human delicacies and even Alien Autopsy (performed on humans) has risen steadily in recent years and we believe it's still best to maintain a low profile with any connections to airborne anomalies.

Further, there is an entire contention pool who believe it's in our best interests not to send out our location maps on deep space craft or transmit our location coordinates with large radio telescopes, lest the listening ear may be a hungry, angry, aggressive alien civilization just looking for trouble.

Flying Saucer UFO

BIG BRAIN SEES FLYING SAUCER UFO
Big Brain's Eye captures a bright FLYING SAUCER!
Wednesday July 11th, 2012 4:04:21 am & 4:04:37 AM
Center Right: FLYING Saucer shaped object is moving behind Taipei 101
Some astronomers say if you observe the night sky long enough, you're bound to see a UFO. Now we're not claiming woman from Venus or even men from Mars, but we do admit to capturing at least one unidentified flying object in the night sky, leaving the image of a saucer on the pixels, this morning around 4am. It appears to be a cute little flying saucer.

16 seconds later the UFO was moving behind 101
Venus is the brightest object in the night sky as seen in this photo, captured from the Big Brain's Observatory Lab 50. But look closer - a cute little flying saucer is seen below Venus.

Take a closer look under Venus. It looks like a new star, but it's unknown what this object is.
Here's What Happened in the Early Morning Hours...

Observing the Moon in the early morning hours of Wednesday July 11th, 2012, while preparing to view the Venus-Jupiter-Aldebaran sky Conjunction, the Big Brain's new camera eye began taking astro images. Over an hour later, the Last Quarter Moon had risen high in the sky, away from Taipei 101, one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world. At that time, 4:04:21 am, a bright object appeared under and to the left of planet Venus, visible next to Taipei 101. In the sequence of photos, the next image taken at 4:04:37 am, only 16 seconds later, the UFO was disappearing behind 101, never to reappear!

Landing Conjecture
In the three photo sequence, the saucer is first seen under Venus, then visible about to be occulted by Taipei 101 skyscraper, and then disappears in the next sequential image. The most logical idea is the craft landed somewhere behind 101 at one of the many landing strips.

Busy Observational Night
It was a busy night, observing the Moon near the Last Quarter phase, studying the Venus-Jupiter-Aldebaran Conjunction in the Hyades, and seeing a UFO Flying Saucer.

Difficulty of Remaining Stealth
Flying saucers of any type and variety have a difficult time remaining stealth under the bright skies of Taipei.  Combined city lights illumination has the advantage of lighting up any flying object for identification and photo imaging. This is especially advantageous for astronomers who wish to photograph Flying Saucers traversing over the big city.

The well illuminated Flying Saucer's shape and outline is seen in this enlarged digital image just before it disappeared behind Taipei 101 skyscraper.

Image Details
Flying Saucer series
This image was captured July 11th 2012 4:04:37 am. The camera was set at f2.5 with ISO 1,600 and a one second exposure. To steady the camera, it was solidly braced on a concrete and brick structure.

Craft Structure
Note the central saucer hub protruding from the primary structure, at the top, and the underside dish-like saucer section, typically depicted in science fiction movies of the 1950s. No individual lights are seen on the craft. There are no predominant colors on the Hull. The object was located behind Taipei 101 some distance as it was occulted by the skyscraper only seconds later. However, the flying saucer never reappeared on the other side of 101.

Flying Saucer - the Series
Refer to the series of digital images at right. This is the Flying Saucer only seconds before it disappeared behind Taipei 101, never to reappear again. The image below, and all the images following it, do not show the flying craft. Full color images show a lack of color on the flying object. Due to the object's albedo, it could have a neutral reflective silvered, white color, or a more subtle color variation.

No saucer visible at 4:04:51 am and thereafter
Craft Runways for Take Off and Landing
Miles behind Taipei 101 in the East are located several runway air strips for craft to take off and land. It's unknown exactly which craft are taking advantage of this location. The real question remains, are these craft flown by local pilots or reconnaissance Aliens. We will continue our monitoring of these very interesting and busy night skies and report back. Stay tuned for more.
