New Machine Heart for Humans
For many decades, since the time of Barney, the first artificial heart recipient, companies have strived to make a long term heart without success. A French company had tried and failed, then was reborn again with a different mechanical heart and new investors, and is working now on clinical human trials. Information is sketchy about reliability and there are not enough recipients to build up long term survivability data. So far to this day, there is no approved long term solution for a machine heart.
