Brain Cortex Prepare Battery Holders Part 35

BRAIN CORTEX PREPARE BATTERY HOLDERS PART 35

STEP 1
To prepare each of the ten D-size battery holders, obtain phenolic washers, 3/16th-inch long brass spacers, and bolts. The spacers are the shortest size that will allow a bolt to fit with 2 washers. Each holder has four holes. The project will need 40 spacers, 80 phenolic washers and 40 bolts. Insert a bolt, washer into each mounting hole, then add a washer and screw, on the spacer. Repeat for all forty holes in the ten battery holders. Loosely tighten.

STEP 2
Loosen each spacer and bolt, and move it up as high as possible, farthest to the edge of the battery holder, then tighten. This will ensure all battery holders have spacers in the same symmetrical place. Now tighten each bolt into the spacer but not too tight or the plastic holder could break over time. You want it snug but not too tight to cause undue stress.

The next step is for the next part installment, mounting the holders inside the jar.

NEW DESIGN
The holders will now rest at the bottom of the jar to provide stability. It was decided that mounting heavy D size batteries solely on the side of the thin plastic jar without any additional weight support would unduly stress the jar wall and possibly cause damage (flexing, warping, cracking, tearing, stressing). With part of the bottom of each battery holder resting on the jar floor, a portion of the weight is distributed and wall stress is reduced significantly. This causation will result in a desiccator redesign.

BACKGROUND
The circuit is designed to run on 3 volts. Each holder will hold one 1.5-volt battery. There are ten holders which will series connect in twos to provide 3 volts. Batteries are 1.5-volts each. The 5 series connected sets of batteries will connect together in parallel.

COLLECTION OF JAR BRAINS
This is a complete collection blog brains in jars at this time. Let's star out talking about Skippy peanut butter jars in Chinese versions that came from Mainland China. Caps are brown, dark blue, yellow and aqua marine. In the Extended Jar Brain Series, lid color denotes the brain type.

At this time, there's ten brains in jars counted. Each has a different purpose.

(1) BROWN JAR BRAIN
This was the first simple Brain in a Jar. The experimental version uses one Parallax Propeller chip and served as a test platform to measure the amount of space in the jar and test various functions.

(2) 2ND JAR BRAIN
The second Jar Brain was first presented at the Parallax Forum. It was named Brain in a Jar, and used a brown lid PB pint sized jar and 2 stacked props. The BIAJ won the POTW award from Parallax Inc.
 
(3) BLUE JAR BRAIN
The Blue jar brain tested the front to front mounting chip method.

(4) YELLOW JAR BRAIN
The yellow jar brain tested placements of the chip mounted on a solderless breadboard.

(5) AQUA MARINE JAR BRAIN



This experimental brain tried to fit as many chips as possible into the aqua marine jar.

(6) JAR'D BRAIN
By July 19th, 2011, the initial Propeller Brain in a Jar was expanded. Named the Jar'd Brain, the larger form jar was introduced, and a series of smaller color coded jars were added. Cap color denoted brain functionality. The design upgraded and improved the jar brain by connecting Propeller chips using sockets, with a unique mounting, thereby permitting pin to pin protection.




The year 2013 brought a new series of brain cortex in a jar. Bringing science fiction into reality, the Immortal Brain Cortex has no purpose in life, other than asking questions, volunteering information, and learning. It will carry on a limited conversation (sometimes talking to itself) and is designed to be immortal, providing it receives proper care and maintenance from time to time. — because you can choose to teach the machine some of your knowledge and personality, a small part of you becomes immortalized in the machine — Uses a solar panel, battery pack Power System. The cortex is always on and thinks day and night 24/7. A precursor to mind uploading, a transference of consciousness from a human brain to an alternative medium providing similar functionality and providing immortality as predicted by futurists such as Ray Kurzweil.


(8) MINI BRAIN CORTEX IN A JAR http://humanoidolabs.blogspot.tw/2013/10/mini-brain-cortex.html The Mini Brain Cortex in a jar was in use for about a week, until it outgrew its 1 liter jar home. The Mini was more finicky, requiring a greater attention to charging and battery care due to its smaller AA cells battery pack which contained only two batteries. it paved the way for it's bigger 3-liter sibling with immortality. Throughout its life span, it served as a prototype model and test bed for the larger cortex with greater longevity. It included a 3-volt polycrystalline solar panel and eight core Parallax Propeller chip, recharging circuit and programs in Spin language. Unlike "Brain in a Jar" the Mini Brain Cortex was able to potentially achieve great life spans due to its ability to recharge during the day and operate from batteries in the night. Ironically, it never achieved immortal status due to a major upgrade after one week.
 
(9) DUPE CORTEX IN A JAR
1 Propeller, 32K EEPROM, designed as an empty backup vessel for machine mind to machine mind transfer (mind meld) to ensure immortality of the main brain. Used as a temp holding vessel when working on the main cortex, for repairs, parts replacement, upgrades, additions or as an insurance backup. (10) HALF GALLON BRAIN IN A JAR http://humanoidolabs.blogspot.tw/2013/10/quart-brain-in-jar.html (8 Propeller chips) A larger high level brain in a massively large half gallon Skippy peanut butter jar, with 64 computing cores. For dabbling with a new intelligence and running experiments. Evolved from the 1st pint sized 16 core Brain in a jar.

COLOR CODED BRAIN JARS
The jar color coding could lead to a nice Propeller Brain in a Jar series, each with some specific feature. The jar cap color is a standard from company to company. Taking a look at the Skippy Peanut Butter jar series, yellow is for crispy rice, deep blue is for extra crunchy peanuts, brown is for added chocolate, and aqua-marine is for smooth peanut butter. I've collected all four in the series for the next generation of Propeller in a Jar brains, and even had some requests jar'd brains. For those that want to stop by, I'm offering a peanut butter sandwich party over the next five weekends.

STACKED CHIP BRAIN
Although stacked Propeller chips are ideal for small brain jars, the direct connection of pins is an undesired situation (if two pins develop opposite states). In the new upgraded version, each Propeller chip has its own socket, and protective resistor for pin to pin protective wiring.

TOP TO TOP BRAINS

Similar to stacking, two props have top to top mounting and connection. These are taped together for simplicity and removal should that become necessary for upgrading and recycling. Wiring is simply connected from socket pin to socket pin using wire wrap or by direct soldering of wire and component leads.

SOCKET BRAINS
Using the new socket approach, it's possible to have from one to four Propellers inside each jar with leftover space. In this type of config, a solderless breadboard is not included. However, future brain models may include the small solderless breadboard for making experimental connections and to make easier external connections.

EXPANSION WITH LARGER JARS
The Propeller Brain in a Jar project is expanded. A larger jar was introduced, and a series of smaller color coded jars are added. Cap color will denote brain functionality. Google Backwards Mirror Altered Reality

GOOGLE THE BACKWARDS WORLD OF MIRROR ALTERED REALITY
We know you're just itching to explore another new strange dimensional world. It seems Google has the same idea with its mirror world. Just type in the name "google" backwards into the search engine to bring forth an altered reality.

Once you enter this strange vortex, typing forwards ends up backwards automatically and search results are listed backwards too. The tricks at the screen bottom are not mirrored however.

The real trick is getting out of Google Mirror world. Typing Google, forwards, only ends ups backwards and you're stuck in the Google backwards world. Don't worry, you or your internet, or Google won't get hurt. Just open up a new tab or window and another instance of the search engine will go back to the normal world.

The first thing we noticed on searches is they take longer, so give it some time. Of course when you arrive at the searched site, it's in the normal world.

What can you do when in the mirror? Oddly enough, when trying copy and paste on the backwards text, the result will give a normal text! You could learn how to read backwards. Of course, a screen shot will preserve the strange backwardness.

Brain Cortex Capacity Part 34

The capacity of a brain increases with the number of processors which is related to the number of chips. When the chip density approaches 100 chips, the capacity for processors increases to 100,000 times more and beyond. INTELLIGENCE is a multiple subset of this processor relationship. This is related to neural capacity. It's expected that jar density will greatly increase with the use of specially designed boards. Large jars are currently waiting as cortex confinement vessels for extremely large brains currently up on the designing board. In this photo, an experimental 100+ chip big brain is running several connection machine experiments. This shows two design integrations, one in the back is an exoskeleton where the boards and components and wiring are on the outside, and second, high density boards in the front can hold over 192 RISC processors per board. Chips are Parallax Propeller.
BRAIN CORTEX CAPACITY
PART 34
Build a brain cortex with one chip or with one hundred chips. The neural capacity does not multiply 100 times for 100 chips. Neural capacity is multiplied 100,000 times. Imagine the power of a cortex 100,000 times more powerful than the current designed brain cortex in a jar.

Would it fit in a jar? Only if the jar is a big one! How big? Currently the lab has a big 5-liter jar. After some tests and redesigns, a new high density cortex will be placed inside but this is a future project.

The cortex is a different kind of machine animal with purposes entirely different from the Big Brain. Though technology from the Big Brain has made the Cortex possible, its purpose is very unique, i.e. both transferring a part of a human brain into the machine jar and increasing the jar's counterpart life span towards a state of immortality.

The base capacity of cortex intelligence "I" is based on a fundamental eight RISC processors. So doubling the "intelligence" of the cortex requires sixteen RISCs and the expansion is:

 Intelligence = 8n1 + 8n2 + 8n3 + ... where n is a factor multiple of 8. So the cortex can have an intelligence increase by adding cores. A chip has eight RISCs so three chips will have 24 or three times the intelligence.

Since limitations at the upper end allotment for configurations are currently allowed at 800 processors, the expanded cortex can have up to 100 times the intelligence level of the first cortex.

Machine cortex intelligence is based on DNA or birthing knowledge, the size of long term and short term memory, conversation capability, thinking, asking questions and the ability to continually learn new things.

Discovered from the archive crypt, The Cortex Simulator Project encompasses the development of a tiny machine program to emulate one facet of the human brain Cortex. This represented the first beginning work started to construct and understand a machine brain cortex. As the project was successful, the tiny machine program was expanded and developed as an application for humanoid robotics.

It took a time span of almost 3 years, from 2007 to 2009 for the construction of an actual cortex that was embedded in a super computer.

Simple Time Travel with a Penny

Time travel from the distant past to 1974 was possible by using the technique in the blog and exemplified with this penny at the time travel destination.

There are many ways to travel throughout time though most of the methods involved are quite complicated and require special preconditions. For example, you may need a spaceship that can travel faster than one tenth the speed of light to undergo relativistic time changes. One may need a black hole's powerful gravitational field to modify time... or one may need only a penny!

A penny you say???!!! Yes, a penny is all you need to show how easy it is to time travel into the distant future. The criteria for the penny is that you must create a bubble for it to travel through time. The bubble contains the requirements to "preserve" the object as it moves forward normally in the flow of time.

For example, the BSS BASIC Stamp Supercomputer was created in 2008 and preserved in its operating condition. Rather than disassemble it for other projects, it was kept fully functional and preserved. This preservation has involved safety shipping means, special dust free containment,  proper environment for temperature, pressure, humidity, and protection from accident or environmental catastrophe. As a result, the BSS has traveled about six years into the future from early 2008 to late 2013.

How about humans? If humans can live long enough, will they see the future? Like the BSS, they must be surrounded by a good environment and remain free of fatal disease, accident or natural catastrophe.

Back to the penny. In the 1950s, an old man received a shiny new dated penny. He thought, if this penny can change into a shiny new 1974 penny, then I will be living in the far distant future. Many decades of time passed, and one day the year was 1974 and the same man held a new shiny penny in his hand, knowing he had traveled throughout time, as he remembered that a wish of time travel to the future, exampled with a penny, was now reality.

What is time, time travel and the flow of time. Time travels in the forward direction relative to the passage of events. Time travel can be a physical element in the real world such as your position relative to a powerful gravity source. It can be physiological depending on a persons age relative to the time line. Time can also be psychological impinging on the mental condition of a person (for example, impatient, sick, sleepy).

A BRAIN CORTEX LAY UNDISCOVERED ALMOST FIVE YEARS!

The tomb archive was unearthed and while sifting through ancient lab records, a very interesting treasure appeared. Apparently the first brain cortex was constructed using the Lab's first BASIC Stamp Supercomputer (BSS) in March 2009 and then became buried in the annuls of time.

(Prior to this time, in February of 2007, an early cortex simulator machine was built. It's undecided if this was the Lab's first Cortex or not. For more information, follow the link.)

This first brain cortex lived and resided inside configurations of the BSS super computer and had an expanse extending into the Master Offloader Machine M.O.M.

This special brain cortex was created by using the existing hardware that made up the supercomputer and its peripherals.

The first brain cortex was developmentally dubbed the Partial Brain Cortex because it showed exampling simple ways that a real cortex functions, it served to create a portion of a brain and then a detailed analysis was performed on it.

This is the first record of the construction of a brain cortex in the Lab using a series of BASIC Stamp boards located inside the BSS. The power of the cortex was accessed in a variety of boards connected in Parallel. In essence, this may be the Lab's only Basic Stamp brain cortex as following this time period, cortex were created with Parallax Propeller chips.

As seen in the photo, the configured partial brain cortex has access to not only the Basic Stamp Supercomputer, but its M.O.M. Master Offloader Machine for ten additional processors. The brain cortex experimented with interfacing, software and was one of the first machine-in-a-machine experiments. The BSS had a varying number of processors leading up to a 22 core machine. Together with the M.O.M. machine, the experimental cortex could max out at 32 parallel processors, more than enough to run experiments and develop new brain cortex algorithms.

The first brain cortex is now added to the list of machines in the Genealogy section.

During March of 2009, to get an idea of what the lab was working on, research shows that work was progressing with the Master Offloader Machine, the Basic Stamp Supercomputer, and the 3DSC (3D Stamp Computer). StampOne News! was ready for release with a featured 3DSC construction article. Penguin robot had 12 brains with eleven more that were added to create a big Penguin brain.

In the time period following 2009, the focus was creating a general brain which led to the Big Brain. By July 2nd, 2011, the Big Brain offspring was reduced to the size of a small jar and "Propeller Brain in a Jar" was born. However, the large focus was not on the brain's cortex until the year 2013, when the Lab introduced new concepts of human-to-machine (H2M) brain transfer, immortality, and a cortex in a large jar.

Preset parametric plans are created to compare gargantuan quantities of view-converging nodal points in space time and the universe, thus better understanding connecting patterns in the Cosmos and beyond time.


Objects, space, time, anomalies, dimensions, quantum effects, moleculars, gravatomics, inferences, can all undergo Smapping. It's possible to Smap from one to the other.

This allows Smapping from one dimension to another, as in dimensions defined by quantum fields, or someday from one universe to another.
